Pre-Writing

Before you start writing, you should be very familiar with Reading 1, Reading 2 and the lecture. You will need to use information from all three sources equally. Make an outline. The organization of your essay should be very clear to you. What is your thesis statement? What are the main ideas that you will discuss in the body paragraphs? What will you say in your conclusion?

Writing

You will have 45 minutes to complete your essay. Try to keep in mind all the requirements listed in the essay checklist. Remember that you must put quotation marks around words and phrases that you copy from the reading and listening texts. Remember that you must provide citations for paraphrases and quotations.

Try to leave yourself a few minutes to do some proofreading. It is natural to make a few spelling and grammar mistakes when you are writing quickly. Taking the time to correct these errors will improve the overall quality of your essay.
