Flashcard Games
- Basketball
Ss line up in two teams, with a basket at the front. Each team sends one member to take a shot at a basket. Teacher first shows a flashcard to S in team 1. If s/he answers correctly then s/he can have a shot at the basket. If the S gets the ball in the basket then s/he gets a point. The person who gets the most points is the winner. The ball goes to S in team 2 next - Charades
Use this game to practice action verbs. Have a S come to the front of the class and show an action flashcard to the S. The S then acts out that word and the first S to guess can be the next player. - Jump On It
Spread out flashcards on the floor and have Ss stand at one end of the room. Shout out a card and the Ss have to find the card and jump on it. - Lightning Fast
T puts some flashcards on the board. Then a pair of students go to the board facing the flashcards. T says flashcard word and the 2 children must touch the correct flashcard as fast as they can. The fastest person gets the point.
