Objectives & Sequence: This activity is intended to be used as a review of Grammar - Subject & Object Pronouns as well as Writing - Because.

Intro Student One Student Two

  • Students work with a partner. Each partner opens the corresponding tab.
  • Each student is presented with 16 incomplete sentences.
  • 8 of these contain the independent clauses of incomplete complex sentences, which are read by students to their partners.
  • In the other 8, students are presented with the dependent clauses of the sentences; however, the clauses are missing subject / object pronouns.
  • The student with the independent clause begins each turn by reading his or her incomplete sentence. The partner needs to formulate the complete sentence and decide which pronouns to use based on the information contained in the independent clause.
  • Students then listen to the recording to ensure their answer is correct.
