"What a beautiful day!” You must have heard somebody say this. But what makes a beautiful day? Take a look out of your window. Do you think it is beautiful where you are?
When people say it is a beautiful day, they are usually talking about the weather. When we talk about the weather, we are talking about the world outside. We are talking about the temperature and the rain. The weather is all around, and it changes every day. Let's take a look at some of the most common types of weather.
On a sunny day, the sun is very bright and warm. You might need sunglasses to protect you from the strong sunshine. You might even need a parasol to protect you from getting burned. When it is sunny, the sky is clear and blue.
Some days, it might be cloudy. On a cloudy day, the sky looks grey and gloomy. Sometimes the sky is partly cloudy and partly clear. On other days, you might not be able to see the sky at all. On a cloudy day, the day seems dark, miserable, and lifeless.
Some days, it might be rainy. On a rainy day, raindrops fall from the sky. On a rainy day, you see clouds in the sky. That is because rain comes from clouds. On a rainy day, the sun is not bright. You might need some rain boots to keep your feet dry and a coat to stay warm.
Some days, it might be windy. On a windy day, wind blows in the air. You can hear the wind and see tree branches moving. On a windy day, it can be sunny, cloudy, or rainy. You might need a windbreaker to protect you from the wind. Some wind can be so strong that it knocks down trees and buildings!
So, what is a beautiful day? Well that depends on what kind of weather you like. Do you like playing in the rain, being blown around by the wind, or, like most people, do you enjoy the warmth of the sun? I think there is something beautiful about all kinds of weather!
