Teacher Notes

Objectives & Sequence: This lesson is intended to be used as a review of Grammar 2-2.

The following vocabulary words are used in this activity:

Part One

Intro Student One Student Two

Students work with a partner and open the corresponding tab.

On each tab, students are presented with four famous cities / locations around the world. At each turn, one student says the name of the place to his or her partner. Together, the students describe what people normally do in these places. They should try to produce at least 2 to 3 sentences in the present simple.

Example: "Los Angeles, USA"

  • "In LA, people go to Disneyland."
  • "In LA, people go surfing."
  • "In LA, people play basketball."

Then, the student clicks the link that is the city name to reveal the current time in that place. Once again, students work together to come up with sentences, but this time, they should try to describe what people are currently doing in the place according to the time.

Example: "Now, it is 8:25 PM in Los Angeles."

  • "Now, people in LA are eating dinner."
  • "Now, people in LA are watching movies."
  • "Now, people in LA are relaxing."

Part Two

Now, with your partner, discuss what people normally do in your city and/or country.
