Listen and write
Dictations are a great way to improve your listening and writing skills. You have to listen carefully and pay attention to your accuracy.

First, read the set up for these jokes. Can you guess the punchline? Do you know what all the words mean?
- How do you stop food from going bad?
- How many sides does a box have?
- If a clock strikes 13, what time is it?
- If a man married a princess, what would he be?
- What can you make but can't see?
- What do you put on when it's wet?
- Where does a large gorilla sit when it goes to the theater?
- Which word is always pronounced wrong?

You will read the beginning of the joke. Then listen to someone telling the whole joke—the set up and the punchline. Write the punchline. (Careful! Use a capital letter at the beginning of the sentence. Pay attention to spelling. Use the correct punctuation at the end.)
