When we are talking about the future, the phrase 'be going to' is very useful. We use this phrase when we are talking about something we plan to do, or intend to do. Sentences are formed using:

subject + 'be' + 'going to' + verb

Subject 'be' 'going to' Verb  
I am going to sing in the school play next month.
You are
He, She, It is
We, You, They are

Remember that we can also use contractions for 'be', like 'you're' or 'I'm.'


We can also use 'be going to' to make negative sentences. These are made by using:

subject + 'be' + not + 'going to' + verb

Subject 'be' not 'going to' Verb  
I am not going to watch the school play next month.
You are
He, She, It is
We, You, They are
