One of the best things about festivals is that you can share the joy with so many people! Festivals often involve large family celebrations or community gatherings.

Your project for this unit will be to put together a video or radio news interview about a festival that you enjoy celebrating.

  • First, choose a festival that you are familiar wtih. It may be a cultural festival, a religious festival, even a festival that is special for your family, school or community. If possible, do some research into the history of the festival.
  • Next, you will need to write some questions and answers for your interview! Because you will be recording your interview, you may need to memorize your script, or practice it enough times so that you can answer the questions naturally. Pick a partner to be the newscaster and interview you!

Once you have written your questions and answer, practice with your partner. Then, you can film your interview! If possible, you might want to get some other classmates to help and create a live demonstration of your festival to film!

Put together a video. There are many sound effects or news introduction clips you might choose to use online, like this one!
