Good writing involves asking questions: what is my opinion of this idea? what are the benefits of this plan? how would I change this situation? Good writing is also about making choices, deciding which topic would be most interesting for the reader, which idea could be fully developed, and which details could be removed or left out.

Interview a Classmate and Write a Paragraph

Your assignment will be to write one paragraph on a topic relating to the family of one of your classmates. Before you write the paragraph, you must first interview someone in the class, ask them questions about their family life, gather information, and then develop that information into an interesting paragraph. Your paragraph can be about anything, provided that it relates to family.
