description Exercise
A phoenix is a magical bird. It is not real. We can see it in paintings. We can see it in stories. Have you seen this bird?
Like most birds, it has two wings. It has a beak and it has feathers. The phoenix can fly. It can sing. The phoenix sings beautiful songs. It can build a nest.
The phoenix is not like other birds. There is only one phoenix at a time. It has red, orange, and yellow feathers. The phoenix looks like the sun. Some people call it the fire bird.
Its tears are magical. They can help sick people.
What happens when the phoenix gets old? Other animals die when they are old. Does the phoenix die when it is old? This bird does not die. The phoenix is special.
When it gets old, something special happens. It suddenly bursts into flames.
It burns and burns. The bright feathers are gone. It looks different than before.
It burns until there are only ashes left. The phoenix rises from the ashes. It is born again.
Some people think this bird means hope. The phoenix burns. It comes back from the ashes. It means that we can rise from hard times too. We can come back and be strong. We can be like the phoenix too! What do you think the phoenix means?
