Will

Will is the closest thing English has to a future tense. It is used commonly for future facts. Of course, in English, will is an auxiliary verb.

  • I'll turn 33 next year.
  • It will be cold in the winter.

Will for prediction is used commonly when based on an opinion. Because of this, it is commonly found with the phrases:

  • I think...
  • I'm sure
  • I believe
  • I don't think it'll rain tomorrow.
  • I'm sure you'll have a great time!
  • I believe my team will win tomorrow.
