Now that you have learned about a variety of different art forms, it's time to focus on one for this unit's project.
First, you'll need to choose an artist that you would like to base your project on. He or she could be a painter, sculptor, animator, LEGO artist...the possibilities are endless.
Your next task is to spend some time researching about your artist. Use the 'Biography' sheet to record your notes, and once you have collected enough information, write a biography for your artist. Some facts you might include in the biography are:
- Year and place of birth
- Family background
- Childhood
- Education
- When/how/why the artist started creating art
- How the artist's work was discovered
Then, search on the internet for works that demonstrate your artist's style, and pieces he or she is most famous for. For example, Peter Max is known for his pop art that features celebrities, athletes, and politicians.
