This page explains how to delete your Smrt English account, what is deleted and what your school keeps. Smrt English accounts are created by schools for their students, teachers and administrators.
Delete your account in the app
- Open the Smrt English app and sign in.
- Open Profile: tap your photo or initials at the top of the Home screen, or tap Profile in the side bar if you see one.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Tap Delete account again to confirm.
You need an internet connection to do this. Your account is closed straight away.
Delete your account without the app
The Smrt English website does not have a delete button. Instead, send an email to [email protected]:
- Send it from the email address you use to sign in, so we know the request comes from you.
- Use the subject Delete my account.
- Tell us the name of your school. If you also want your personal information removed from your school's records, say so.
If you cannot send from that address, tell us why and we will ask you or your school to confirm the request. A parent or guardian can ask on behalf of a child.
We reply to confirm when the account has been deleted. We aim to do this within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your account is closed. You are signed out on every device, and you cannot sign in again with the app, the website, Google or Microsoft.
- Notifications to your devices stop.
- Copies saved on your device for offline use are removed when the app signs out. You can also uninstall the app.
What your school keeps
Your classes, work, scores, recordings and progress belong to your school's class records. When you delete your account, these records, with your name and email address, stay available to your school so it can keep its grades and reports.
If you ask us to remove your personal information as well, we will work with your school to delete what it does not need to keep. You can also ask your school directly.
