Students work in groups of three to four and open the corresponding pages. Students take turns asking and answering the discussion questions. Each question features one of the state verbs studied in Grammar 2-2.

  1. Does the kind of car you drive matter to you?
  2. Do you owe anyone money right now?
  3. Do you have anything with you that doesn't belong to you? If so, what?
  1. What is something about the future that you doubt will happen?
  2. What do your pockets contain?
  3. Choose something in your classroom. Pick it up. How much does it weigh?
  1. What is something that you lack right now?
  2. What is the most expensive thing you own?
  3. What is something you wish you had right now?
  1. Do you know anyone that is successful but doesn't deserve the success?
  2. Try something on that your partner is wearing, such as a ring, hat, glasses, etc. Does it fit?
  3. Do you remember or forget your first time driving?
