Spacing is very important in English. Here are some rules for when you need to use a space in English:
Between Words
You must use a space between every word:
- Did you listen to music last night?
Between Sentences
We must put a space after every sentence. Some writing uses two spaces, but this is less common:
- The window was broken by my brother. My father was angry about it.
or
- The window was broken by my brother. My father was angry about it.
After Commas
We must use a space after commas:
- I played tennis in high school, but my sister played volleyball.
