Can and Could
For the rest of the unit, we will be talking about more modal verbs and how to use them. Let's take a look at can and could. Like all modals, can and could come before the main verb in the sentence. They also have the same form with all subjects.
Can
Can is used to talk about things in the present. It tells you what someone or something is able to do... or someone or something is "not" able to do. Notice that can + not turns into cannot, which is one word.
