Teacher Notes

Objectives & Sequence: This lesson is intended to be used as a review of Grammar 5-2.

The following vocabulary words are used in this activity:

Students work with a partner and open the corresponding tabs.

On each tab, there are two parts. In the first part, Student One is presented with a list of eight nouns. For each noun, he or she must ask his or her partner "How many...is there?" or "How many...are there?".

Student Two answers the questions describing the quantity of the item they see in their photos.

Student One listens and makes sure the answer is correct as all possible acceptable answers are included on his or her page.

In the second part of the activity, roles are reversed for a new set of eight nouns.

Example

On Student One's Page:

    cellphone
    • There are many cellphones.
    • There are a lot of cellphones.
    • There are lots of cellphones.

On Student Two's Page:

cellphones

How many cellphones are there?

There are many cellphones.
