This speaking pairs activity focuses on using indirect question grammar in sentences that start with “I don’t know...”

One student asks his partner a question, and the partner must say that they do not know and then change the question to a noun clause.

What time is it?

I don’t know what time it is.

Students take turns asking questions on their pages.

  6. Is the restaurant expensive?
    • I don't know if the restaurant is expensive.
  7. Why did he come late?
    • I don't know why he came late.
  8. Who is she talking to?
    • I don't know who she is talking to.
  9. Is the battery dead?
    • I don't know if the battery is dead.
  10. Is the Internet working?
    • I don't know if the Internet is working.
