On each page, students are presented with discussion questions that include phrasal verbs studied in Grammar 11-3. Students should discuss answers to the questions trying to use the phrasal verbs in their answers.

  1. How long can you use your laptop without plugging it in?
  2. Do you throw out all your old clothes or do you give them to someone when you are finished with them?
  3. What is an example of something you always run out of?
  4. Other than with water, what are other ways to put out a fire?
  5. What is something you took recently that someone was handing out?
  6. If you saw a bear, would you run away or stay?
  7. What is something you have now that you will not take back with you to your home today?
  1. Have you ever walked out of a movie before it was finished?
  2. Has someone ever broken into your home?
  3. Which area of your city do you try to stay away from? Why do you stay away from it? Is it dangerous?
  4. If the police were trying to catch you for some reason, how would you get away from them?
  5. How much does it cost in your city to work out at a gym?
  6. Do you think you could figure out how to speak English by yourself with books and websites?
  7. If you missed class because you were sick, how would you find out about what you missed?
