Objectives & Sequence: This lesson is intended to be used as a review of Grammar - The Second Conditional.
Students work in pairs and open the corresponding pages below. Students take turns and present their sentences to their partners. Partners listen and change the sentences, using the Second Conditional, keeping a similar meaning.
I can't go because I'm busy.
I could go if I weren't busy.
- You want to buy a car, but you don't have enough money.
- I would buy a car if I had enough money.
- You won't go to the gym because you are lazy.
- I would go to the gym if I weren't lazy.
- You won't fix your computer because you don't know how to do it.
- I would fix my computer if I knew how to do it.
- You want to take a photo, but you don't have a camera.
- I would take a photo if I had a camera.
- You want to go to a party, but you don't have time.
- I would go to a party if I had time.
- You want to study tonight, but you don't have time.
- I would study tonight if I had time.
- You won't order a hamburger because you are a vegetarian.
- I would order a hamburger if I weren't a vegetarian.

- You want to eat pizza, but it is unhealthy.
- I would eat pizza if it weren't unhealthy.
