Students work in groups of three to four and open the corresponding pages below. When it is a student's turn, he or she should read the situation and decide if it should be described in the First or Second Conditional. The student then asks the group a conditional question about the situation.

Imagine someone steals your computer:

Would you call the police if someone stole your computer?

  • Drought comes to this part of the world soon.
  • Summer isn't beautiful this year.
  • You can't sleep tonight.
  • You drop your phone into a toilet.
  • You want to get a tan this weekend.
  • The weather is miserable tomorrow.
  • You find a kite on the train.
  • You want to eat out tonight.
  • Your country starts using Fahrenheit instead of Celsius next year.
  • You go to Las Vegas this weekend and use up all of your money.
  • Your computer starts talking to you.
  • You are tired this afternoon.
  • You find someone's passport on the bus.
  • Your cell phone runs out of power today.
  • The temperature drops below freezing tonight.
  • You can fly.
