Intro Student One Student Two

Students work in pairs and open the corresponding pages below.

On each page, there are two sections. In Part One, Student One asks the question provided on their page. Student Two uses the sentence on their page to answer Student One's question. Student One then describes Student Two's answer using a past participle adjective.

In Part Two, roles are reversed.

How much power is left on the laptop?

Actually, it's at 100%. I've just charged it.

The computer is charged.

Part One

Ask your partner the following questions. Then, describe what they said with a past participle adjective:

  1. Are you still doing the activity?
  2. Are you going to buy a new car?
  3. What is fondue?
  4. Are those vegetables raw?
  5. Could you pass me the remote control for the TV?
  6. Is your flight on time?
  7. Is that your natural hair colour?
  8. Why was the used phone so cheap?

Part Two

Use the following sentences to answer your partner's questions. Then, check that his / her sentence matches the answers in blue below:

  1. Yes, it is. Nobody has closed it.
    • It isn't closed.
  2. Because you've just turned it off.
    • It's turned off.
  3. No. I've just washed it.
    • It's washed.
  4. Yes it is. I've cut it.
    • It's cut.
  5. He went home a while ago.
    • He's gone.
  6. Yes, I did it earlier today.
    • Your laundry's done.
  7. Because you haven't plugged it in.
    • It's unplugged / not plugged in.
  8. We fried them.
    • They're fried.
