Intro Student One Student Two

Students work in pairs and open the corresponding pages above. On each page, students have problems that they present to their partners. Partners listen to the problems and then offer their criticisms about the situations with Should + Perfect Infinitive.

Example:

My friend bet me $10 that I couldn't open a Coca Cola can with my teeth. I told him he was wrong and tried. I broke my tooth.

You shouldn't have done such a stupid thing!

  1. I didn't bring an umbrella today because I thought the rain was going to stop. It hasn't.
  2. She wanted to eat the world's spiciest chili pepper. We had to take her to the hospital.
  3. My mother told me to study English harder when I was a child. I didn't really listen to her.
  4. Last night, I was a little drunk and married a stranger.
  5. We were at a restaurant twenty minutes ago, but now I have to go to the bathroom.
  6. I'm a smoker, and in this country, cigarettes are $8 a pack more expensive than in my country.
  7. I thought it was going to be warm and sunny today, so I wore shorts and sandals. I'm freezing!
  8. I didn't have time this morning to eat breakfast. Now, I'm starving.
  1. I walked past a barber shop that had a sign that said haircuts were only $10. They shaved my head.
  2. Her house burned down and she didn't have any insurance.
  3. He wasn't wearing a helmet riding his bicycle. Now, he's in the hospital.
  4. We decided to go to Canada for our holiday in January. It was snowy and freezing.
  5. We got home really late last night and now I can't wake up.
  6. I got really lost in the city after school yesterday.
  7. I was really bored last weekend. I had nothing to do.
  8. We went to California with a group tour. I feel like we didn't really see the real California.
