- Student One: You start with: "It was such a warm spring afternoon yesterday."
Student Two looks at his or her prompt and then makes a sentence about what was unnecessary, using the prompt and what his or her partner said.

- Student Two: Target Sentence = "I didn't need to wear a jacket yesterday."
- Listen to your partner, and then use this information: (We ordered three pizzas for dinner last night.)
- You start with: "Class started late yesterday."
- Listen to your partner, and then use this information: (I didn't open the window.)
- You start with: "I bought a ticket for you."
- Listen to your partner, and then use this information: (I didn't take any photos. You emailed me all of your photos.)
- You start with: "I went to the airport to pick you up when you came back."
- Listen to your partner, and then use this information: (I didn't water the garden.)
- You start with: "I took a taxi home and it cost $30."
- Listen to your partner, and then use this information: (Skype is free.)
- You start with: "I bought some formal clothes for my new job."
- Listen to your partner, and then use this information: (Asking the neighbour to turn down the music is a simpler solution.)
- You start with: "I didn't go to the night club because I didn't want to buy a ticket to enter."
- You start with: "We ate so much food for lunch yesterday."
- Listen to your partner, and then use this information: (I came to school very early yesterday morning.)
- You start with: "It was a pretty cool evening last night."
