Most people with jobs look forward to the weekend. But for these fortunate people, work can't be that bad. Here are some jobs that will make your average worker jealous.
In 2009, 12-year-old Harry Willsher was given the job of his dreams. He was named the candy taster at a candy factory. It was Harry's job to try all the candy and decide what tasted good. He didn't have to move a muscle. The candy was sent to his house, and all he had to do was eat it and give them his verdict.
But the fun isn't only for children. Professional chocolate consultants taste and judge chocolate. You would have to watch your diet if this were your job!
How about being a gumologist? The job is simple. Try gum, and advise on new flavours. Sounds like a sweet job.
Or maybe you're more interested in being active. You could try Tommy Lynch's job. He is a professional waterslide tester. Every year, Tommy zooms down more than 40,000km of waterslides.
If that all sounds too exhausting for you, maybe you'd like to be a professional sleeper. Professional sleepers have to sleep to make money. They test out beds for quality and comfort and help scientists who are researching sleep and dreams.
Now, after doing so much hard work, you might feel like it's time for a vacation. You can be a vacation tester. Noelani Schilling-Wheeler is a vacation tester in Hawaii. Before she can send tourists on their holidays, she has to try them out first. Vacationing in paradise seems like a nice job.
If all that does not satisfy you, you might have to ask Ben Southall for his job. In 2009, he became a caretaker for an island in Australia. For six months, all he had to do was relax, explore, and write about his time. Oh, and he also got paid almost $120,000.
Do you have a taste for island life? Being a destination wedding photographer is a job that you might want to consider. As a wedding photographer, you capture the magic of a wedding. But even better if you get to do it in the most beautiful places in the world.
Despite what your parents tell you, some people do get paid to watch television all day. Those people are Netflix Taggers. Tagging is the process of entering words that describe movies and shows into the website. It helps customers find what they want easier.
If you want to get paid for staying in hotels and traveling, you might consider being a mystery shopper. A mystery shopper goes into a shop to test the service. They look for problems to feed back to the company. They are paid for their visit and given money to spend in the store. Some can even keep what they buy!
If you think you are a wine connoisseur, you can get paid for drinking wine. A Master Sommelier is paid to test wine. He or she also advises people about what wine pairs with food.
If you love what you do, your job isn't work at all!
