Preparing Mexican students for College Board ELASH II

2 June 2026

For many students in Mexico, the College Board ELASH II exam is an important English certificate. Our ELASH II Preparation course was written with those students in mind, and it is ready to teach on Smrt English today.

Written for Mexican students

The course is set in the world students are heading into, with workplace and industry scenarios throughout. The situations, the vocabulary and the reading topics reflect the jobs and programs students are preparing for, not a generic classroom.

Every section of the exam

ELASH II has three sections, and the course covers all of them with practice modelled on the live test:

Listening: the kinds of recordings and questions students will hear on the day.
Use of Language: the grammar and vocabulary items the exam tests, in the formats it uses.
Reading: short and long texts, with the question types students will meet.

A walked-through ELASH II reading item on workplace idioms, with the answer and a Spanish explanation — From lesson 2-2: a walked-through item in the exam's own format, with the explanation in Spanish.

Where students lose marks

A lot of exam preparation is about the small number of things that trip students up. The course gives dedicated time to three of them:

The items students most often get wrong: targeted practice on the question types that cost the most marks.
Reading between the lines: questions that ask what a text implies, not only what it says.
Longer texts: building the focus to stay accurate when a reading goes on and attention starts to slip.

How the course runs

The course is 48 sixty-minute lessons across eight units: one orientation unit and seven content units. Three checkpoint practice exams, Diagnostic, Mid and Final, let teachers and coordinators follow each student's progress from the first week to the last.

For coordinators

Because the course lives on the same platform as your other classes, there is nothing new to set up. Groups, teachers and reports stay as they are, and coordinators can see who is ready and who needs another pass before students pay an exam registration fee.

If ELASH II is the exam your students certify with, contact our team and we will show you the course from the inside.
