Which devices and browsers work with Smrt English?

Smrt English works in any current web browser on a desktop computer, laptop, tablet or phone. There is nothing to install.

Students can also use the Smrt Study app for iOS and Android. See Use the Smrt Study app as a student. Teachers can use it too, and school administrators use the website. See Use the Smrt Study app as a teacher.

What you need

• A current browser, kept up to date.
• An internet connection.
• Sound, for audio in lessons and listening questions.
• A microphone, for speaking questions where you record your answer. The first time you record, your browser asks for permission to use the microphone. Allow it, or recording won't work.

If something doesn't work

• Reload the page, then try another browser or device.
• Turn off ad blockers and other browser extensions.
• If you opened Smrt English from a link inside another app, such as an email or chat app, open it in your normal browser instead.
• If the site keeps asking you to sign in, see The site keeps asking me to sign in.
• If the website won't load at all, see The Smrt English website isn't loading.
