Take the Smrt English Test
Sign in, enter the activation code from your proctor and start your test.
You take the Smrt English Test (SET) on the day your test centre booked. Your proctor gives you a 4-character activation code.
Go to set.smrtenglish.com/en/activate_test. Under Student Login, click Sign in with Google or Sign in with Microsoft.
Type the code in Activation Code and click Validate Code.
On Test Activated, read Before you begin, then click Start Test. The test takes about 3 hours: Listening (40 min), Reading (60 min), Writing (60 min) and Speaking (15 min), in that order.
The timer at the top shows how much time is left. You get a reminder at 2 hours, 1 hour, 15 minutes and 5 minutes left.
When you finish, click Submit, then Yes, Submit Now. If the time runs out, your test is submitted automatically after 10 seconds.
Your institution reviews your results. Contact them about next steps.
If something goes wrong
- Invalid activation code: the code only works on the session date. Check the code with your proctor.
- You were signed out or closed the page: go back to the same address and sign in with the same account. Click Continue Test.
- Test Already Completed: you have already submitted a test with this account. You do not need to take it again.
