Smrt app
Use the Smrt app without internet
Choose what the app saves on your phone, do your exercises with no connection, and hand them in. They are sent when you are back online.
The Smrt app can save your exercises on your phone, so you can do them with no internet. Choose what to save in Profile, under Offline. The app downloads the files on Wi-Fi. When you are offline, the Exercises tab shows the work you can do now, and the work you hand in is sent when you are back online.

Choose what to save
After you sign in, the app asks what to save on your phone. You can change it at any time:
Tap your picture to open Profile.
Under Offline, choose one:
- Exercises: the pictures and audio for your exercises. Lessons show their text.
- Lessons and exercises: also the pictures and audio of the lessons you have work in. This uses more space.
- Don't save: no pictures or audio. The text of your lessons and exercises is always saved.
The app only downloads when you are on Wi-Fi. On mobile data, it waits for Wi-Fi. While it downloads, Profile shows a progress bar, for example "Saving for offline: 240 of 267 files". When it is done, it shows how much space the files use, for example "Saved on this phone: 46 MB of pictures and audio."
New work from your teacher is saved too, the next time you are on Wi-Fi.
What works offline
- Home, Class and Exercises.
- Exercises that are still to do and fully saved on your phone. The Exercises tab says how many you can do now, for example "Offline · 5 you can do now".
- Lessons, with their text and any pictures and audio saved on your phone. Other media shows "Available when you're online".
- Your answers. They save on your phone as you go.
- Handing in. The app says "Handed in. It is sent when you are back online." See My work says "Waiting to send".
What needs the internet
- Quizzes. The Quizzes tab comes back when you are online.
- The Café and its videos.
- Joining a class.
- Changing your photo, name, notifications or password.
Exercises you cannot open offline are greyed out. Tap one to see why, for example it is handed in already or its files are not on your phone.
Delete the saved files
To free up space, open Profile, go to Offline and choose Don't save. The app asks "Delete offline files?". Tap Delete. The text of your lessons and exercises stays.
If you leave a class, its saved files are deleted from your phone.
If it still doesn't work
- An exercise is greyed out offline: its pictures or audio are not on your phone yet. Open the app on Wi-Fi and wait until Profile no longer shows the progress bar.
- You chose Don't save: exercises with pictures or audio need a connection. Choose Exercises instead.
- Your work did not arrive: open the app when you are online. See My work says "Waiting to send".
