I can't sign in to the Smrt app
The app only signs in with Google or Microsoft. Use the account with the same email address your school added, or use the website.
The Smrt app signs in only with Log in with Google or Log in with Microsoft. It has no sign-up, no password sign-in and no password reset. Choose the Google or Microsoft account with the same email address your school added to Smrt English. If the app says "There is no Smrt English account for" your email, you picked a different account, or your school has not added you yet.
Sign in
Open the app and tap Log in with Google or Log in with Microsoft.
Choose your account, or enter your email address and password on the Google or Microsoft page.
The app opens with your classes.
Google always shows the list of accounts, so you can pick the right one on a shared phone.
"There is no Smrt English account for …"
- You picked the wrong account. Many phones have more than one Google account. Tap Log in with Google again and choose the account with your school email address.
- Your school has not added you yet. Students: ask your teacher or school to add you. Teachers: ask your school admin.
You sign in to the website with a password
The app cannot sign in with a password. You can still use the app if your email address is a Google or Microsoft account:
- A Gmail address, or a school email on Google Workspace: tap Log in with Google.
- An Outlook or Hotmail address, or a school email on Microsoft 365: tap Log in with Microsoft.
Use the same email address as your Smrt English account, and your classes are there. To make a Google account for your email address, see Sign in with Google or Microsoft.
If your email address is not a Google or Microsoft account, use Smrt English on the website in your phone's browser. Everything works there too.
If it still doesn't work
- Forgot your Google or Microsoft password? Reset it with Google or Microsoft. See Sign in if you forgot your Google or Microsoft password.
- No internet? You need a connection to sign in. Once you are signed in, the app opens without one.
- Your email address changed? A school admin can change it. See Change a student's email address.
