Getting started

Sign in if you forgot your Google or Microsoft password

Smrt English does not keep your Google or Microsoft password, so you reset it with Google or Microsoft.

For students, teachers, school leaders3 stepsUpdated 23 September 2026

When you click Sign in with Google or Sign in with Microsoft, you type your password on Google's or Microsoft's own page. Smrt English never sees that password and cannot reset it.

  1. Open your school's Smrt English website and click Sign in with Google or Sign in with Microsoft, as usual.

  2. On the Google or Microsoft page, choose the option for a forgotten password and follow its steps.

  3. Once you are signed in to Google or Microsoft, you come back to Smrt English, signed in, with your classes.

School email accounts

If your email address was given to you by your school, your school manages that Google or Microsoft account. If you cannot reset the password yourself, ask your school's IT team or school administration.

Why Forgot Password? does not help

The Forgot Password? link on the Smrt English sign-in page only works for accounts made with an email address and a password. For a Google or Microsoft account, it shows this message instead:

The message We're sorry, but an error has occurred. Please try again at a later time.

Always sign in with the same Google or Microsoft account. A different email address gives you a separate Smrt English account without your classes.
