Choose Google or Microsoft sign-in for your school

Your school uses one sign-in button, Google or Microsoft, and Smrt English sets it for you.

For school leadersUpdated 29 September 2026

Every school on smrtenglish.com has one sign-in button: Sign in with Google or Sign in with Microsoft. Google is the standard. There is nothing to connect or set up in your Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 admin console.

Switch between Google and Microsoft

Contact Smrt English to change your school's sign-in. Only Smrt English can change this setting.

Once it is changed, the Sign in window on your school's website shows the new button, and the welcome emails for new students, teachers and administrators tell them which account to use.

How people end up in your school

  • People are matched by email address. The first time someone signs in with an email you added as a teacher, school administrator or student, their account is created in your school with that role.
  • Add each person with the exact address of the Google or Microsoft account they sign in with. If the addresses differ, they sign in to an empty account.
  • Send people to your school's own address, such as smrtenglish.com/yourschool. Find it under Dashboard, Home, Settings, School Link. Someone you have not added who signs in from that address gets an account in your school, but no classes until a teacher adds them.
