Smrt app
Mark writing and speaking answers in the app
Review open answers one student at a time, give a score and a comment, and release the answers so students see your marks.
Writing, speaking, long and short answers can wait for you to mark them. Open the assignment and tap Review open answers. For each student, give a score and a comment if you want, then tap Save and next. Students see your marks when the answers are released.

Find answers to review
- On the Exercises tab, tap the To review chip. Cards show how many answers wait for you, for example "6 to review".
- On Home, Needs you shows answers to review, if you have marked work in the last 60 days.
- Turn on the Work to review notification for one summary each afternoon. See Turn app notifications on or off.
Mark the answers
Open the assignment and tap Review open answers. The number shows how many are waiting.
You see one student at a time, with each open answer. Read the writing, or play the recording.
Give a score if you want. Scores are optional.
Add a comment if you want.
Tap Save and next, or Skip to next to come back later. On the last student, tap Save and finish or Finish.
You can also swipe between students. Students you saved turn green in the bar at the top. Skipped students stay grey.
To see the whole exercise with the student's answers, tap See all answers under the student's name.
If you close the screen with marks you have not saved, the app asks "Leave without saving?". Tap Keep reviewing to go back.
When everyone is done, the app shows "All reviewed".
Let students see your marks
Students see your scores and comments when the answers are released:
- If you chose After they submit when you assigned the work, students see them now.
- If you chose When I release, tap Release answers on the assignment page once the work has closed. You can also release them at any time from the ⋯ menu.
Students get a Teacher feedback notification when you review their work.
If it still doesn't work
- Marking needs an internet connection. It does not work offline.
- No Review open answers button? The assignment has no open answers waiting. Tap a student's row to see their answers.
